Methodology
Geolocation precision
How country, region, city, and confidence-style precision signals are represented in the monthly dataset.
Precision levels
Geolocation records can be represented at several levels of precision:
- City: city-level GeoName and coordinates are available.
- Region: region or state-level attribution is available.
- Country: only country-level attribution is available.
- Unknown: no reliable location hierarchy is available.
Accuracy radius
The accuracy_radius_km field provides an approximate radius for the location. Smaller values indicate more specific attribution.
Coordinates
Latitude and longitude should be interpreted together with geo_precision_level and accuracy_radius_km. A coordinate is not a street-level claim.
Recommended interpretation
Use country-level fields for broad classification, region/city fields for enrichment, and precision fields to decide whether a record is suitable for high-confidence analysis.
